Wendy's Has a Strong August, Cites Healthy Kids' Meals

I posted a while back about Wendy's new Kids' Meal Choices, which offered a turkey or ham and cheese sandwich, saying we'd be hearing more from the chain about this move.
Sure enough, Wendy's cites the new kids' sandwiches in its news release touting strong performance in August.
As a parent, it's nice to hear that healthier menu options for kids are succeeding to the extent that they're cited in financial results. Cool.
The company also says it will let consumers know it is now cooking with oil that has zero grams of fat per serving at its 6,000 U.S. restaurants through point-of-purchase nutrition posters in all its stores in September.

Now, wait a minute - what oil has no fat calories? The last time I heard about an oil like that the term "anal leakage" was in the same paragraph.

Oops! That should be zero grams of trans fat. Wendy's actually had a typo in its news release—that's what I get for copying and pasting late at night!
Quoting an earlier post, here are some examples of trans-fat contents in a few items:
I'd assume the total fat-calorie content is about the same, but I haven't looked up the details yet on Wendy's site.

LOL over the "anal leakage," by the way! We've had many jokes around our house about that—guess I'm revealing our juvenile senses of humor—and we'd never buy anything with Olestra.
My philosophy is, if you're going to have some potato chips, go ahead and enjoy some...without worrying about horrific public humiliation...!
OK, now hoping that Google AdSense doesn't put all kinds of p*rn ads on this site! :)
